This book is absolutely stunning. I appreciate illustrations that pull you in and allow you to enter the story. Jason Chin's illustrations literally make me want to jump through the pages and experience the setting.
The story is also so sweet. A family makes a quick stop when the parents spot some watercress growing alongside the road. Not all of the children are so sure about their parent's desire to spend time in the mud, filling a paper bag with a funny green plant.
But later they understand the importance and specialness this holds for their parents.
This is a beautiful story!
