FROM SONYA:

"Reading aloud with our kids is indeed the best use of our time and energy as parents. It's more important than just about anything else we can do.

I want to make sure you understand what this book is all about: It's about going all in for our kids.

We aren't going all in for our kids because we are promised excellent results. We're doing it because they mean more to us than anything in the world." - Sarah Mackenzie

I have read many good books throughout my years. I've read great and even excellent books. My top 25 book list fluctuates, but I reserve those spots only for books that in some way change my life or cause me to want to purchase a thousand copies and hand them out to everyone I see.

The Read Aloud Family by Sarah Mackenzie makes my top 25 list. I can't purchase one thousand copies and hand them out to you all, but if you haven't read this book, please drop everything you're currently reading, and read this. It's worth every moment of your time.

Sarah shares the many incredible benefits of reading aloud to our children. It's not a magic formula or a way to fix your kids forever. It is, however, something that builds relationships, creates everlasting memories, builds confidence in your child's life, and is a way to teach valuable lessons.

You don't have to be a homeschool mom or even a mom to learn from this book. Grab some kids in your life, snuggle up on the couch, and read aloud. It may just be the best moment of their lives...and yours.

FROM THE BOOK:

Discover practical strategies to make reading aloud a meaningful family ritual.

The stories we read--and the conversations we have about them--help shape family traditions, create lifelong memories, and become part of our legacy. Reading aloud not only has the power to change a family--it has the power to change the world.

But we all know that connecting deeply with our families can be difficult in our busy, technology-driven society. Reading aloud is one of the best ways to be fully present with our children, even after they can read themselves, but it isn't always easy to do. Discover how to:

Prepare your kids for academic success by reading to them

Develop empathy and compassion in your kids through books

Find time to read aloud in the midst of school, sports, and dinner dishes

Choose books across a variety of sibling interests and ages

Make reading aloud the best part of your family's day

The Read-Aloud Family also offers age-appropriate book lists from infancy through adolescence. From a toddler's wonder to a teenager's resistance, you will find the inspiration you need to start a read-aloud movement in your own home.
