FROM THE BOOK:
"Ranofer wants only one thing in the world: to be a master goldsmith like his beloved father was. But how can he when he is all but imprisoned by his evil half-brother, Gebu? Ranofer knows he can only escape Gebu's abuse by changing his destiny. But can a poor boy with no skills survive on the cutthroat streets of ancient Thebes? Then Ranofer finds a priceless golden goblet in Gebu's room and knows his luck and destiny are about to change."
FROM SONYA:
I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet story of Ranofer and the Golden Goblet. Though it is somewhat of a slow-moving story, it is full of adventure and intrigue. I also appreciate the historical focus on Egyptian culture.
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
There are many mentions of Egyptian gods and superstition. There are also some mentions of beatings and drunkenness.
LESSONS:
Standing for truth and for what is right, no matter the cost.
