The Cul-De-Sac Kids by Beverly Lewis is a lighthearted series that follows a group of neighborhood friends as they face all kinds of adventures. There are so many lessons packed into each one of these fun stories.
Throughout the pages, you will find some black and white watercolor illustrations which help to bring the story to life for your younger readers.
There are around twenty-five books in this series, so if you're looking for some good reading material for the upcoming summer months, these would be a great addition to your list!
My Rating: ☆☆☆☆
* The four stars are only for personal preference. I feel like the writing style is very choppy. The stories jumped from one subject to the next in very rapid succession. If I wasn't paying close attention, it was a bit easy to get lost as to what was happening in the scene. But again, personal preference.
☆ star = highly disliked & probably didn't finish.
☆☆ stars = wouldn't recommend.
☆☆☆ stars = mostly good but may have some concerns.
☆☆☆☆stars = very good.
☆☆☆☆☆ stars = reserved for my absolute favorite books.
Recommended Ages: 6-8 years
Valuable Lessons: As mentioned above, each story focuses on a different life lesson. But there are lots of examples of kindness, loving others, serving, and being a friend.
Questionable material: There is none that I could find.
