I grew up reading books by this husband and wife writing team. I've mentioned previously that I think it's so special when couple's team up to create beautiful pieces of literature; whether it's through writing and illustration like Phillip & Erin Stead or simply bringing a story to life like this couple. I think it makes it extra special somehow.
The Hero Tales series is a family treasury of true stories from the lives of Christian Heroes. Each book focuses on fifteen heroes of the Christian faith like Gladys Alward, David Livingstone, Ben Carson, Billy Graham, George Washington Carver, Charles Albert Tindley, and so many more.
What you will find inside the books:
• A short overview of how each person impacted the world for Christ. There are four short stories on each individual and they also include a Bible memory verse and discussion questions after each one.
• At the end of each book, there is a list of character qualities which includes Boldness, Thankfulness, Sacrificial Love, Perseverance, Diplomacy, etc. The list also points out which Christian hero portrayed them in the included stories. I love this added resource!
If I had to compare this series, I would say these books are similar to Geoff & Janet Benge, only on a much smaller scale.
I appreciate this series for the many ways it can be used and that it is written in a way that is easy for younger children to understand as well.

Valuable Lessons: This series focuses on the lives of people who impacted the world for Christ. There are so many beautiful pictures and examples of how God wants to use each one of us to further His kingdom.
