Okay, this one is for the ladies and moms in the group. I looove sharing children's books! But I also really enjoy talking about my books as well.

I am always on the search for good book recommendations for myself, so I thought maybe you are as well.

First of all, I'll admit that it is a little scary to recommend books for adults because everyone has such different tastes and kids books, well, they're kids books.

Just a reminder to please use discretion in what is right for you and your family.

Connilyn Cossette is one my favorite authors. Her books land in the Biblical fiction category.

Now let me just say, I've tried other Biblical fiction and have always struggled with them a bit, because either there were a lot of liberties taken in the story or they had too much romance included for my taste. Also, it always seems like everyone writes stories about the same women Bible characters that everyone else does.

These books, however, are just amazing. All of Connilyn's books follow the lives of the Israelites - from captivity to wondering in the wilderness to living in the Promised Land. You definitely want to begin with her first series to get the whole picture!

While her main characters are fictional, she does touch on the lives of some well-known Bible characters.

I'm not usually a huge fan of romance novels, they're just not for me. However, these do fall in the romance genre, so keep that in mind as you read.

I think the thing I love the most about these stories, is how much I learn about the Israelites and this specific time in the Bible.

These aren't just fluffy stories that just happen to be based on the Bible. Connilyn does an incredible job of digging deeply into Scripture and putting you into the setting, the feelings, and the thoughts of the Israelites. There are some liberties taken with the fictional characters of course, but the stories are packed full of information and thought-provoking goodness! I walk away convicted and not wanting the books to end. 🤍

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Recommended Ages: Adult

Valuable Lessons: These books are packed full of incredible Bible facts, some you may know already or some you may not.

Questionable Content: As I mentioned previously, these are considered Christian romance books. So while there aren't any descriptive sex scenes, there are romantic relationships portrayed in the stories.
